We Are One Community
THE CHARITABLE GIVING FUND OF WORKING FAMILIES IN MACON COUNTY, ILLINOIS
Together, we accomplish more. There are 13,000 union members and retirees in Macon County. If only half of us give $1 a week - or $52 a year - we can collectively donate $338,000 a year to charity in the name of working families. Imagine the possibilities!
By giving back where we live & work our community is improved. We Are One Community is worker donated and worker distributed. Each Labor Day, the all volunteer advisory board recommends grant distribution to local charity - helping right here at home!
Working Families in Macon County created We Are One Community in 2011 to help make a difference through collective giving and encourage philanthropy among workers. It is a donor-advised fund housed at The Community Foundation of Decatur / Macon County.
We Are One Community promises to award 100% of all individual donations to local charity. We have no paid staff, only an all volunteer advisory board of working men and women. Accrued interest is reinvested and The Community Foundation receives 1% for administration.
All gifts are tax deductible. You can give a one time gift, provide an automatic draft from your checking account or sign up for monthly payroll deduction. Donations can be sent to: We Are One Community, c/o The Community Foundation, 125 N. Water Street, Suite 200, Decatur, IL 62523.
